How
Our Faces Age - Muscle Activity
Smiling,
frowning and squinting are among a few facial movements that help
create many of the "crows feet" wrinkles that appear along
certain areas of the face. This muscle "hyper activity"
may begin early on in life, even before the first signs of aging
appear on the face.
With
the advent of Endoscopic Facial Surgery, these "problem areas"
may now be treated directly and earlier on in the aging phases before
they become serious problems. Whereas before you needed to
wait until you really needed a facelift to get treatment, you may
now attack these problem areas once they begin to appear.
How
can you tell if your wrinkles are caused by muscle activity or by
other factors?
Try
this:
Stand in front of a mirror and put on a straight face. Try
not to laugh, smile, frown or make any other facial expression.
Do you see any wrinkles? If so, they are most likely wrinkles
caused by sun damage, other types of skin problems, or a genetic
inclination. If not, then the wrinkles that generally appear
on your face are caused by muscle activity and they are considered
to be good candidates for correction with Endoscopic Facial Surgery.
