How Our Faces Age - Environmental Factors

Environmental factors which affect the face are; the sun's ultraviolet rays, and gravity.  These factors seem to have the most affect on caucasian people.  The lack of enough melanin in individuals with a fairly light skin tone, allows the sun's rays to penetrate the skin and destroy the fibers which help keep the skin elastic and with good tone.  As these fibers are destroyed, gravity helps pull the skin downward producing droopy cheeks, saggy necks, and wrinkles.
