Only
a few small incisions, each less than one inch long, are needed
to insert the endoscope and other surgical instruments as
opposed to longer incisions used to view under the skin.
Your scars are likely to be hidden and some of the after effects
of surgery may be minimized; including;
- Quicker
recovery than open surgery;
- Possibility
of avoiding an overnight hospital stay;
- Decreased
risk of sensory loss from nerve damage;
- Bleeding,
bruising and swelling may be significantly reduced;
The
procedure may also be performed on an outpatient basis under
local anesthesia with sedation. Be sure to ask your doctor
about this. |
